FASHION| BLACK & GOLD

It's been a long time but I'm back woohoo! The stress of assignments, essays and being the president of the dance club are long behind me. I can now look forward to blogging more frequently, searching for a internships and actually being a REAL adult!

So a few weeks ago I went to my third and final sports ball where I got to unleash my inner edgy 70's gal. I wore this black and gold jumpsuit from ASOS, when I first saw it on the website I wasn't to keen but there was just something about it so I ordered it anyway. However the moment I got my hands on it I absolutely fell in love!!

You can't really see my shoes but I decided to opt out of torturing my feet with sky high heels and instead treated myself to a really nice pair of lace up wedges from Public Desire.

I kept it simple with the jewellery; some simple gold hoops from Primark (which I always lose and always go back to repurchase) and a simple choker from Pretty Little Thing that I only got for £3.

(...And to top the amazing evening off my amazing club won 'Club of the Year'!!!)

HAIR CARE ROUTINE

If you know anything about Afro hair you'll know that it needs a lot of moisture, so you may be shocked to find out that I use very few products. My hair is really hard to manage and I'm always really busy with dance, lectures and deadlines. Managing my hair is like the stress of five 2000 word essays in one! I've recently got into wearing wigs, that way I can still look after my natural hair but not have to deal with the everyday maintenance. I'm really loving my current routine so I thought I'd let you in on some of the products I use.

ORS Hair Mayonnaise Deep Conditioner | ECO Styler Gel | Unrefined Shea Butter (Mixed with Jamaican Castor Oil) | Tresemme Heat Protectant | Tresemme Hairspray |Creme of Nature Shampoo | Tresemme Conditioner

The deep conditioner is a protein conditioner and I use it when I feel my hair needs repairing, so about once every 2 months. I know that too much protein is not good for your hair. I've tried several shampoos and I must say the Creme of Nature one is the best I've tried. Sulfate free shampoos can be quite pricey but this was only £3! It smells amazing and leaves my hair squeaky clean. I shampoo my hair once a week and them go in with my Tresemme Naturals Conditioner (which was on sale for £1.99 - WHAT!!!). When it comes to my skin I'm really into using natural products or products that have very few chemicals. I've started to look into using natural products on my hair. Prior to using shea butter I had heard so much about it but I didn't think it'd be this good. I mix it with Jamaican Castor Oil and it gives my hair so much moisture.

HAUL | ASOS, MISSGUIDED, NASTY GAL, NEW LOOK & LAVISH ALICE

So I've been really busy over the past month which you can probably tell from my lack of blog posts but I haven't let it get in the way of SHOPPING! I've bought some beautiful beautiful beautiful pieces and I still have a long wishlist of more things I want to buy, oh no!
I ordered from Nasty Gal for the first time ever, if you didn't know Nasty Gal is an American brand which have quite high prices. Although, their sale prices are really good. I got free delivery, shipping took 8 days and when the package arrived at the door I had to pay £30 in tax and duties -_- (which is not Nasty Gal's fault). When ordering I was really scared that I would order the wrong size as they of course do american sizes but I was so happy when trying the items on because they all fit me woohoo. Although I will be selling one of the items on depop as it's too short :(, I think I'll definitely be purchasing from Nasty Gal again.
I say this all the time and don't actually do it but their will be regular outfit of the days coming very soon.

AUGUST WISHLIST

AUGUST WISHLIST

I can't believe in 2 days it will be August! This year has gone so fast, I feel like I can now start counting down the days till I go back to university ahhh!
I have fallen in love with Missguided like crazy, I'm in love with everything on missguided and the fact that everything is affordable makes me fall in love even more! Out of all the wishlists I've done I feel like this is my favorite one. I love love love midi skirts and my friends always tell me my 'signature' look is a high waisted midi skirt, cropped top and chunky shoes. Although, I only have black midi skirts and I definitely need to add more colored midi skirts to my wardrobe.
Recently I've really been liking the whole dressing up tracksuits look, being able to wear a tracksuit but still look girly. For a day look I would pair the bustier with the the runner shorts and Adidas trainers. What do you think?
What's your favorite item on the wishlist?

WHAT I GOT | CO ORD, BIRKS & A CHOKER

It's really hard to show you guys what I buy all at once so I thought I'd show you 'WHAT I GOT' a couple of items at a time. So I'd been eyeing up this co-ord for a very long time, as I was a broke student at the time I put it at the very top of my wish list. A couple of weeks later I went back on the Fashion Union page and it was on sale!! There was noway I was going to leave the screen without purchasing it. It's my first ever purchase from Fashion Union and I must say I'm really impressed, delivery was quicker than expected (I'm a cheap skate so I always choose the cheapest delivery option which normally means the longest delivery time) much to my surprise I ordered it Thursday evening and it got here on Saturday. I had to get a size bigger as they didn't have any size 10's left, its a little big around the side of my boob area and my lower back so I am gonna try and get it taken in. Apart from that I absolutely love it and that's another co-ord added to my collection.
I also got a pair of Birkenstocks in pink! I haven't got much to say about them because my step dad bought them for me but I do really like them (mainly because they are pink!)

FASHION | OOTD

Summer is now in full swing and I must say its been full of good news; I passed my first year of university and I'm very happy with my grade, I finally got a job and after only working there 2 days I got some really good news from them, one of my flatmates wasn't going to live with us in second year due to being on placement but he has now changed his plans and will now be living with us for second year (MADHOUSE!) also I've got some really exciting things planned for my blog so all in all I'm a very happy girl.
If you've been reading my blog for a while you'd now I've had some issues with doing OOTD's and getting them up. Well, I have finally found a solution and that is getting my 8 year old brother to take them! I'm actually impressed and after taking today's OOTD he has now decided he wants to be photographer haha!

LIFE AS A STUDENT | FRESHERS WEEK

I've decided to do a series on a my blog called Life As A Student, where every Monday leading up to freshers week I will be doing advice posts for all freshers, students and anyone that wants to know really. You can read last week's one here, also I'd love it if you messaged me or commented and told me any university related topics you would like me to cover. Today I'm going to give you some tips for freshers week and along the way give you little snippets of my freshers week.

Try and arrive in the morning or mid-afternoon. Going out clubbing with people you only met a few hours ago is actually quite scary. Moving in in the evening whilst everyone is getting ready to go out may be an awkward experience. I was the first one to arrive and I spent about an hour walking up and down the corridor shouting ''Hello, is anyone here?!'' convinced that they were all hiding from me!

Leave your door open/Bring a door stop. This tip didn't really work for me because I was right at the end of a narrow so no one ever came near my door but I do know that it worked for some of my friends living at other halls.

You don't have to do anything you don't want to. You don't have to drink! Due to medical reasons I didn't drink during freshers; I still made friends though and I still went out. To be honest getting absolutely wasted everyday of the week isn't me anyway, if you're having fun I don't think anyone will notice you haven't drunk.

Go to your course inductions  My course inductions were absolutely pointless and I really didn't need to go :) but being the great influence that I am, I encourage you to go to all of them.

Explore your new city. If your completely new to the city why not check it out during the day. I done this twice and realised what a beautiful city Nottingham is and I also got lost!

Freshers Flu. Now I didn't get freshers flu *woohoo* and neither did my flatmates but I have heard it makes you feel absolutely dreadful. Don't wait till you're too sick to get out of bed before buying antibiotics.

Go to Freshers Fair. How can you say no to freebies! Its also where you find out about societies so I would really recommend you go to freshers fair and join a society. If your too scared to go to trials/auditions or society meet and greets by yourself why not ask your flatmate if they can come with you.

Be nice. Not everyone has a loud personality, some people can be very shy and find it hard to make friends please please please don't leave anyone out. I really do feel sad when I see someone is with a group of people and they look left out. It won't kill you to ask them if they're alright, even if they're a complete stranger you can ask them if they wanna stick with you or hold their arm or hand whilst walking through the club.

LIFE AS A STUDENT | UNIVERSITY SURVIVAL GUIDE

I remember this time last year I was all over blogs and YouTube looking at  tips for university students and watching university experience videos. Now that my first year of university is over I feel like I am qualified to give advice to freshers starting in September.

Socialize. This is something I wish I did more in my first year. Anyone who knows me knows that I'm a really chatty person and I love meeting new people. For some reason I found it really hard to socialize and I was really guarded. I joined the dance society and didn't really fit in or start making friends until December/January and I only really talk to 2 people in my seminar group! Don't be scared to go up to people and introduce yourself. I remember in freshers week people would randomly coming up to me and introduce themselves. So that's a tip for you guys and definitely one for myself going into second year.

Manage Your Time. I struggled with this quite a lot. I have a very hands on course, a lot of it involves spending hours in the newsroom; trying to find people to interview, going to court and on top of that I of course had coursework deadlines. I was also on the first dance team and trained 4 times a week, when it got closer to performances  rehearsal could go up to 6 times a week so I was always busy. Not managing my time meant I was starting coursework 4/5 days before it was due which I promise you is not fun. I've done a blog post on how to keep organised which you can read here

You're Not Going To Be Friends With Everyone. You are going to meet so many different people ( you will come across a couple of bell ends! ), you're not going to get along with them all. Some of the people you don't get along with might even be your flatmates. Or I could be wrong and you might end up being best friends with everyone you meet! I didn't get along with 2 of my flatmates and let's just say the thought of never seeing them again fills me with joy :). But I get along so well with my other 4 flatmates that the other 2 don't even matter, I'm living with them for the next year and I miss them so much too!!

Keep Active. I know that a lot of people feel that they put on weight when they go to university. I personally didn't take notice if I put weight on or not but every time I came back home to London my mum would say I look like I've been starving myself. I kept active through dance and right at the end of the year I starting going to the gym.

Manage Your Money. Let's just say half way through first term and second term my bank balance was £0.00 :)

Go to Freshers Fair. How can you say no to freebies!

Join a society. I joined the dance society and I must say it was the best decision ever. I only went to the dance auditions because my flatmate wanted me to go with her and I ended up getting on first team! Being part of dance I've had the opportunity to perform in the Capital FM arena, had the opportunity to go to Liverpool, participate in so many competitions and of course met some beautiful, talented people.

Have fun. It's such an amazing experience and it's going to go by so fast. You don't want to look back and regret anything. Work hard (very hard) and play harder!!

Have you got any more tips for students? If your starting university in September what are you most worried about?

LOOK INTO MY WARDROBE...

Hey my lovelies, I hope you've had a great weekend. You may have noticed (or not) that I didn't blog anything on the weekend, I've decided I'm only going to blog every weekday and I promise to stick to it. I was also hoping to get lots of outfit of the days for you this summer but if you read my last outfit of the day you would know the dilemma I'm in. Nevertheless the show must go on!

Something a little different today I want to let you into my wardrobe... well one of them! I love seeing how people organise their clothes so I thought I would share my wardrobe with you guys...

The wardrobe is from IKEA and was only £79!! On the right I keep my trousers, shorts, jeans and lounging wear (I'm still working on my folding skills!) and then at the bottom I keep the shoes I wear most frequently. I keep the rest of my shoes in another wardrobe (I have 3!), there's not much thought put into what I hang up on the left. The pink boxes are from argos; I keep bed sheets, pillow cases and clothes I'm selling on Depop in there.

On top of my wardrobe I have my baby brothers old cot which I keep all my bags in... and my prom dress. On the right of the cot I have the box I keep my camera in and my memory box. If I'm honest I don't have a clue what are in the boxes on the left but they're pretty ehe and on top of them is a cute little cow and a cute little pig that my friend Henrietta gave to me for my 18th birthday!

Let me know what you thought of this..
